GOOGLE LOCAL

We’ve wondered the same thing. Mike Blumenthal did some digging and give some great answers to some FAQ’s about the Reserve with Google feature.
For example;
At the highest level, it requires a merchant to have a physical address and a booking service compatible with Google’s API. Thus no service area businesses allowed.
This makes sense. Mike also lists out the industries that are specifically not allowed – mostly medical – which we assume is due to privacy policies and being HIPPA compliant.
Although, we’re still waiting for this feature to be rolled out fully. We’re still seeing businesses that fall under the approved categories, with a physical address, using an API approved booking system, which still doesn’t have the option to add booking to their GMB listing.

We’ve been watching mobile indexing and making sure our clients are well prepared for mobile-first indexing. While this is a great practice, many sites haven’t been moved over to mobile first yet.
And that’s OK. We’ll be ready.
Google states that rollouts such as these can take some time. Maybe even years.
Patience, grasshopper.
Google has begun to roll out a new rounded search bar. 
Why does it matter? Well, for one, we love a good rebranding story and this is another element that Google is cleaning up to match its new font and simpler logo. 
But functionally, this is awesome because the new search bar will be “ ticky” and scroll as you do, so your search will always be in view and you won’t have to scroll back up to change your search terms. 
Current, this is only being rolled out on desktop.
